Went down to the Chesterfield Kite Day today… and found that yes, there was no wind happening. Interestingly enough like last year, we got just about the last kites (actually the last two with tails – my youngest had to get a kite with a tail). The only way anyone got a kite up was by non-stop running. After 15 minutes, I let my kids just run around until they were tired. Amazingly, we were there for around 2 hours I think.
If you live in Henrico (or missed Chesterfield’s and want to just drive a bit further), Henrico is having their kite day next weekend over near the RIC Airport:
Join us for a day of kite flying, kite demonstrations, contests and games, and more hosted by the Richmond Air Force Kite Club in cooperation with Henrico County Division of Recreation and Parks.
